For Blog entry eight I chose to write about option three. If I had to recommend a story from "The Method" and "Morocco Junction 90210" I would chose "The Method". The reason why I would recommend “ The Method” is because the plot was more interesting. At the beginning when I started reading I was a bit confused but as I continued to read then I stared to understand it way better the story was explainable and gave detail were it took place, the only down side of “The Method” is that the author used to much foul language and to much sex talk in my opinion I really don’t like those types of stories theirs TMI, but other then that the story was good. Like at the beginning of the story Richard played as a mysterious guy with Holly. But even though she fell for an older man she was still smart not to trust Richard and she figured it all out and instead of Killing Mariah the innocent women that didn’t do anything wrong, she kills the selfish man, that cant do his own things for him self and uses a girl to do his dirty work . The more exiting part of the story was how things ended up with Richard. He was killed with rat poison. He died as a rat that he was. “Morocco Junction 90210” was a good story also but to me it was a bit boring. Not a lot was going on not that interesting.
I agree. I found Morocco Junction boring too. Maybe cause I had a hard time understanding it. But yeah, If liked the other one. I like your statement, "He was killed with rat poison. He died as a rat that he was." If you write an essay on this, include this quote. It was just really cool, and described the guy in that story really well. Good job!
ReplyDeleteIt did start kind of slow, but out of the stories we have read thus far. I liked this one as well. It seems that this story has captured some of the elements of noir more that the other stories. I also have to agree with you in regards to the language used. But you do have to admit that it was a bit milder than "Danger Days." I think that we may have gotten a little spoiled with classic noir. I am still trying to adjust to neo-noir. "The Method" seemed to be more of a smoother transition for me. I loved the way you said, " He died like that rat he was." Love it!
ReplyDeleteI see we are all on the same page with liking in this story better them the other one. You are write about the language, and sex talk. I can do without it as well. But I guess we don't have a choice, it's homework. And like Taniya said it is getting to contain the element of noir more clearly, I seeing it more in this story compaired to the other L A noir. "He was a rat".
ReplyDeleteSorry about the errors. I am so tired. :-)
ReplyDeleteI also believe that Morocco Junction was really boring. I gree with you about the language, for her to be a young pretty girl that gives her a contrdictiory image. but i think that park of awkwardness of Neo Noir. als find out in this movie that the classic role of the character were change. last thing i want point out is that i like what you said a bout richar that "he died as the rat he was." good job and good interpretation Diane
